Cars and a Farewell

Just b/c I live in the states, people assume that life is easy. That's just not the case. In fact, I've had to work part-time as a car salesman selling vintage automobiles just to make ends meet:
hehe. Just kidding. Actually, the company I work for just decided to hold their annual Christmas party recently at the Blackhawk Museum, which houses vintage automobiles like the Mercedes Benz in the photo above.

I'm not really much of a car afficionado, but I did learn a few things while I was over at the museum. For instance, did you know that this Bizarrini was one of the first cars built by one of the founders of the Ferrari after he split from Ferrari?
I guess his new company didn't take off though b/c that's the first time I've heard of a Bizarrini. It's a nice looking car though, don't you think? Personally, I like this Jaguar:
The museum was an interesting place and a nice place to hold a party. More photos here.

On another topic, this'll probably be my last post.... well, until I post another one. hehe. Seriously, it'll probably be a while before I post again because its vacation time. And what better way to spend Christmas than Christmas at home in the Philippines. I'll see some of you bloggers soon. Hmmm.... hope there aren't too many awkward moments of silence. hehe. Merry X-mas and a Happy New Year (or Happy Holidays, if you prefer). ;)

V-logging, Clean Restaurants and a Horoscope-y Meme

No, that's not a typo. Part of the title of this post refers to the future of blogging -- v-logging or video blogging. The way I see it, eventually everyone will have a high speed connection, their own camcorders, and a movie editing program like iMovie or Movie Maker. I had seen v-loggers before but I wasn't really impressed with them. But what won me over and what convinced me that v-logging is the way of the future was this v-logger named KevJumba. He sometimes collaborates with another famous v-logger, Happy Slip. I like their collaboration called Put it in Purse. It's about trying to learn how to drive a stick shift from a relative. Not that I can relate or anything. hehe. Warning: the following v-logs have some mature content. ;)
Here's another one where KevJumba responds to racist haters (or commenters) on his v-log.
Another notable v-logger is this gal from Australia, Natalie, whose youtube username is community channel. I like her video here where she talks about some of her interactions with non-Asians:
The funny thing about the v-logs are the re-enactments they do. The v-logger usually plays multiple roles or characters and they're pretty hilarious. :D I thought about doing a v-log and re-enacting an incident that happened to my roommate, but then I thought about how time consuming it might be to record it, edit, etc. But then again, that's what we do when we blog anyway, right? We write, rewrite, edit, etc. So I just might do a re-enactment of that incident. In fact, I call on all of you bloggers to start experimenting with v-logging and doing re-enactments from your own lives. hehe.

Moving on, food critic Anthony Bourdain once said that the best way to determine the cleanliness of a restaurant is by checking how clean their bathroom is. Well, I've had two incidents in the past few days involving this theory. In the first one, the bathroom wasn't that clean. But I had already ordered my food so I reluctantly stayed at the restaurant. I had to say something to the restaurant workers though that their bathroom needs some work. The lesson: don't use the bathroom unless you're positive it is clean. ;)

More recently, I went to another restaurant and the bathroom was decent. It wasn't super clean, but it was good enough. While I was eating though, one of the busgirls rolls out a very filthy-looking trash container. It looked like that trash container hadn't been cleaned in months with all the dirt and grime on it. Not just one filthy trash container, but she rolls out two filthy trash containers. Sheesh. Yet again, I had to fight the urge not to lose my appetite. I mentioned to the waiter as I paid my bill, "Do you guys always roll out the trash while people are eating?"

And now a meme from dimaks:

2. Copy to your own journal, with all twelve months (click this for the list).
3. Tag 12 people from your friends list.
